Rick Schafer, MPT | Master of Physical Therapy
Since graduating from Loma Linda University in 1996, Rick has worked as a physical therapist in outpatient / orthopedic settings. Starting his career in Yakima, Rick then moved to Guam to work in a PT department at a non-profit Christian medical clinic for the next 6 years. Returning to Washington In 2006, he chose to settle with his family in the beautiful Skagit Valley.
Rick worked with clinic-founder, Harold Von Bergen, PT, for 7 years before Harold's retirement. Rick's commitment has been to continue providing the personal and caring attention this clinic has come to be known for.
Rick enjoys the small-town feel of Sedro Woolley. When not at the clinic he likes to spend time with his wife and three children, cultivate and nurture a garden, run, hike, camp and ski.

Sheila VonBergen, MBA, MPT | Master of Physical Therapy
Sheila grew up in Walla Walla, WA and worked as a gymnastics and aerobics instructor prior to pursuing a career in physical therapy. She graduated from Loma Linda University with a Master of Physical Therapy Degree in 1993 and then worked for Kaiser Permanente in Riverside, CA for several years prior to moving to Guam with her husband Scott. Sheila enjoyed 8 years providing physical therapy service in Guam. In 2004, Sheila - along with her husband and 2 daughters -returned to the USA mainland --settling in NW WA. For close to 20 years, Sheila worked as an out-patient physical therapist for NorthSound Physical Therapy. Most recently, she joined her former (Guam) colleague Rick Schafer at Cascade Physical Therapy and Sports Clinic.
Building connections with family and friends outdoors in nature, music, photography and healthy cooking are some of her many passions, and she strives to provide care that reflects a personal commitment to wellness.
